Civilian Disputes
Saint Paul said: No soldier gets entangled in civilian pursuits, since his aim is to please the One who enlisted him. (2 Timothy 2:4). I have used this scripture as an excuse when facing some of the deception happening in our world today, especially after what I experienced over a year ago, with the Covid shutdown in 2020. At the very beginning of the shutdown, the Lord pressed upon my heart some things that were coming to pass as I was reading the Book of Daniel. While reading, I saw the inside workings of an old clock in which the old gears began to turn. The Lord made me know that what was ‘coming to pass’ had to do with deception; and that vaccinations would be used in the deception. This experience was alarming because we no longer vaccinate in our family, as we have experienced bad side effects, and I was worried about my children. However, I kept these thoughts to myself for a couple of days.
I shared my fears and the experience I had with a few people I was close to, but did not receive the support I had hoped. Sadly, instead of being brave and continuing to press into what God was telling me, I freaked out. I shut down and quit talking about the rebellion that I feared was approaching. In the meantime, I dug into the Word of God stronger than ever before.
Then, about 5 months ago, the Holy Spirit woke me up. As I was in and out of sleep, I saw a vision where I was preaching a sermon. This was surprising to me because I’m not a pastor but also because the last thing I ever want to do is talk in front of people, that is why I write. In front of people, I stumble all over my words and shake with trembling insecurity. But in the dream, I spoke clearly and boldly. When I opened my eyes, I knew I had to write it all down. It was a little after midnight when I awoke. I fired up the computer and wrote furiously while crying. I could feel God’s presence all around me. I finished writing around 1am. For months since then, I have toiled, cried, struggled and laid before the Lord asking Him if speaking out is really what He wants me to do. At this point, I have no choice because a burning desire will not leave my heart. The prophet Jeremiah said:
If I say, “I will not mention him, or speak any more in his name,” there is in my heart as it were a burning fire shut up in my bones, and I am weary with holding it in, and I cannot.
Jeremiah 20:9
This is very much how I feel about what I am to share. Much of what I wrote the night the Holy Spirit woke me up is what I have included herein.
3 Things I Want to Discuss in this Article:
A. Is taking a vaccine being a ‘Good Samaritan’ and ‘loving your neighbor’?
B. Is resistance going against Romans 13?
C. Should Christians speak out?
A. Is Taking a Vaccine Being a ‘Good Samaritan’ and ‘Loving Your Neighbor’
The Good Samaritan
First, please understand, this article is not to condemn anyone or point fingers but to bring awareness to the darkness and urgency at hand. Second, I feel I must address a few scriptures that have come up recently regarding this topic before we dig in.
In March 2021, there was a statement made by evangelical leader Rev. Franklin Graham, president and CEO of Samaritan’s Purse, to ABC News where he stated: “I think if there were vaccines available in the time of Christ, Jesus would have made reference to them and used them.” Because there was such an outrage about his statement, ten days later Reverend Graham gave an updated statement comparing getting the Covid shot to being a good neighbor.
My answer was that based on the parable of the Good Samaritan in the Bible, I would have to say—yes, I think Jesus Christ would advocate for people using vaccines and medicines to treat suffering and save lives. In this Scripture passage, Jesus told about a man beaten and wounded, lying on the roadside as religious leaders passed by and didn’t help. But a Samaritan, considered a social outcast of the day, becomes the hero of the story when he stops and cares for the injured man—pouring oil and wine, which were the top medicines of the day, on the man’s wounds. We also know that Jesus went from town to town healing “every disease and sickness.” He came to save life—to offer us eternal life. Did Jesus need a vaccine Himself? Of course not. He is God. (NPR 4-5-21)
Graham’s updated statement still did not sit well with some Christians. While his entire statement was logically laid out quite well, it still seems the story of the Good Samaritan is not being used in the right context. Graham does mostly describe the parable of the Good Samaritan correctly, however, in my opinion he is twisting it a little, insinuating that oil and wine are similar to medicine today. Many people still use oil and wine for therapeutic use, so can we really compare it to an injected drug?
Let us not forget that at the end of the parable Jesus asks:
Which of these three, do you think, proved to be a neighbor to the man who fell among the robbers?” He said, “The one who showed him mercy.” And Jesus said to him, “You go, and do likewise.”
Luke 10:36-37
The point of the parable of the Good Samaritan is to show mercy to others. Not to take medicine or follow the crowd. If we are to have mercy, we are to be loving to others despite their culture and choices. We are never to shame, coerce, mock or belittle someone. Don’t judge someone if they choose to get the vaccine. Don’t judge someone if they choose NOT to get the vaccine. Don’t shame someone because they have questions or concerns. Have mercy on them.
Love Your Neighbor
Franklin Graham is a renowned representative for Christians on a global level. He is highly regarded by the Christian community and many look to him for guidance. His statements have been carried by several others who use them to shame and coerce people into following a twisted agenda.
Our Vice President, Kamala Harris, made this statement in July 2021 – “I do believe that the act of getting vaccinated is the very essence — the very essence of what the Bible tells us when it says, ‘Love thy neighbor.’ Right?” she said.
There are many points to be made about her statement, however, let’s look at the most alarming issue. When you are close to Jesus you learn to keep an eye out for the devil’s handiwork. We learn as followers, that one of the enemy’s favorite tactics against God’s people is twisting scripture. As you may recall, Satan tried to use parts of scripture to deceive Jesus in the wilderness. Finally, trying to tempt Him with the pleasures of this world.
Again, the devil took Him to a very high mountain and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory. And he said to Him, “All these I will give You, if You will fall down and worship me.” Then Jesus said to him, “Be gone, Satan! For it is written, “‘You shall worship the Lord your God and Him only shall you serve.’” Then the devil left Him, and behold, angels came and were ministering to Him.
Matthew 4:8-11
I can’t help but see the irony, that the enemy tried to bribe Jesus with worldly things. Our Messiah is not of this world and neither are we. We are not to be bribed with things of this world, such as money or gifts for receiving a vaccination.
What’s Really Going On?
It is important to notice the deception we are being faced with so we, as brothers and sisters in Christ, can come together and support one another. If the authorities are willing to force a questionable vaccine on our children and our families, what will they be willing to do next? Not to mention, there are some very concerning issues with this vaccine (see information at the end of this article). We must come together to put an end to these mandates.
Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.
1 Peter 5:8
The enemy always has a strategy of deception up his sleeve because he is the father of lies. He wants to lull you to sleep with lies and fear. He intentionally tries to remove God from your life, then he can isolate you and easily deceive you by creating unhealthy habits and addictions. These addictions can be social media, drinking, prescription medications, or even adultery, porn, etc. The enemy’s agenda is being fed to us through these devices. All these things pull away from what God has intended for your life. The real issue is that we are in a time of darkness in our country and are being pulled away from God. We are surrounded by lies.
You are of your father the devil, and your will is to do your father’s desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks out of his own character, for he is a liar and the father of lies. But because I tell the truth, you do not believe Me.
John 8:44-45
It is no accident that a questionable vaccine is being pushed in the midst of a dark agenda. In the last year, we have witnessed a push to remove gender from our identity, the glorifying and celebration of sexual immorality, our history being destroyed and removed, and a blanket of shame being laid over innocent people because of the sins of the past. The devil always tries to pretend to be the light, making these snares appear good, saying things like ‘love is love’ and ‘be a good neighbor’ to try to snag you into a deceitful trap. That is why we must be alert. Put on the full armor of God, cling to Jesus and be brave. Don’t fall for the narrative of right being called wrong, and wrong being glorified.
Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter!
Isaiah 5:20
The spirit of the antichrist is what we are fighting. When we allow this darkness to infiltrate into our daily lives we give the enemy an open door. Now is the time to begin reading your Bible day and night, stick close to fellow believers who have a conviction in their hearts about the times and season. Encourage and support one another, study the Bible together and pray together.
For such men are false apostles, deceitful workmen, disguising themselves as apostles of Christ. And no wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light.
2 Corinthians 11:13-14
If you are curious as to why some people are choosing against this vaccine, please see the end of this article for a plethora of information.
B. Is Resistance Going Against Romans 13?
I have seen many Christians and adversaries use Romans 13 as a way to deter speaking out against oppression. Let’s review the key scripture that is being brought up regarding compliance:
Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been instituted by God. Therefore whoever resists the authorities resists what God has appointed, and those who resist will incur judgment. For rulers are not a terror to good conduct, but to bad. Would you have no fear of the one who is in authority? Then do what is good, and you will receive his approval, for he is God’s servant for your good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for he does not bear the sword in vain. For he is the servant of God, an avenger who carries out God’s wrath on the wrongdoer. Therefore one must be in subjection, not only to avoid God’s wrath but also for the sake of conscience.
Romans 13:1-5
The context of Romans 13 was that these governing authorities had the people’s best interests in mind. When the government rightly ministers to the people, they are like God’s servant. We as Christ-followers are to submit to governing authorities in this manner. Kings and leaders are to issue righteous judgments and hate wickedness. When a government is unrighteous, it is our responsibility, as Christians, to insert ourselves in a way to defend innocent victims and to stand up in obedience to God (Exodus 1:16-20, Esther 4, Daniel 3, Acts 4:18-20 and 5). Let’s look at the Book of Daniel to see how he handled unrighteous authority.
Resisting Food that is Unclean
Daniel and his friends, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, resisted defiled food that was offered to them after they were captured. Daniel drew a line in the sand, he did not want to put something in his body that defiled him.
But Daniel resolved that he would not defile himself with the king’s food, or with the wine that he drank. Therefore he asked the chief of the eunuchs to allow him not to defile himself. And God gave Daniel favor and compassion in the sight of the chief of the eunuchs…
Daniel 1:8-9
God gave Daniel favor. God is pleased when we follow His ways despite what is going on around us.
Standing Instead of Bowing
This was not the only time these friends stood for what was right in their hearts. Later on, Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, were faced with going against God.
There are certain Jews whom you have appointed over the affairs of the province of Babylon: Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. These men, O king, pay no attention to you; they do not serve your gods or worship the golden image that you have set up.” Then Nebuchadnezzar in furious rage commanded that Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego be brought. So they brought these men before the king. Nebuchadnezzar answered and said to them, “Is it true, O Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, that you do not serve my gods or worship the golden image that I have set up? Now if you are ready when you hear the sound of the horn, pipe, lyre, trigon, harp, bagpipe, and every kind of music, to fall down and worship the image that I have made, well and good. But if you do not worship, you shall immediately be cast into a burning fiery furnace. And who is the god who will deliver you out of my hands?”
Daniel 3:12-15
The three friends did not respond by bowing because everyone else said they had to, they believed in their heart that it went against what God would want. Here was their response:
“O Nebuchadnezzar, we have no need to answer you in this matter. If this be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of your hand, O king. But if not, be it known to you, O king, that we will not serve your gods or worship the golden image that you have set up.”
Daniel 3:16-18
Note that the three friends were respectful to the king but they refused to obey his corrupt order. Right now we are not facing a giant statue that we are being forced to bow down to, instead, we face ideologies and spiritual forces of evil (Ephesians 6:12). However, isn’t it interesting how we are seeing issues of kneeling for certain things in our country?
The Lion’s Den
The last story to consider in Daniel is the one we are most familiar with. Because Daniel would not stop praying, even though there was an order in place, he was tossed in the lion’s den.
When Daniel knew that the document had been signed, he went to his house where he had windows in his upper chamber open toward Jerusalem. He got down on his knees three times a day and prayed and gave thanks before his God, as he had done previously.
Daniel 6:10
Daniel knew that a government order had been signed, but he prayed anyway. Daniel cared more about what God thought than what the king thought and paid the consequences for his actions.
Then the king commanded, and Daniel was brought and cast into the den of lions. The king declared to Daniel, “May your God, whom you serve continually, deliver you!” And a stone was brought and laid on the mouth of the den, and the king sealed it with his own signet and with the signet of his lords, that nothing might be changed concerning Daniel. Then the king went to his palace and spent the night fasting; no diversions were brought to him, and sleep fled from him.
Then, at break of day, the king arose and went in haste to the den of lions. As he came near to the den where Daniel was, he cried out in a tone of anguish. The king declared to Daniel, “O Daniel, servant of the living God, has your God, whom you serve continually, been able to deliver you from the lions?” Then Daniel said to the king, “O king, live forever! My God sent his angel and shut the lions’ mouths, and they have not harmed me, because I was found blameless before Him; and also before you, O king, I have done no harm.” Then the king was exceedingly glad, and commanded that Daniel be taken up out of the den.
Daniel 6:16-23
There are two things that stand out in this story aside from God’s miracle. First, Daniel was respectful of the king just as his friends were, even unto (possible) death. Second, his bold stance, against an order that went against his principles, had such a dramatic effect, that king Darius issued this statement because he was so moved by Daniel’s bravery and what God did for him:
Then King Darius wrote to all the peoples, nations, and languages that dwell in all the earth: “Peace be multiplied to you. I make a decree, that in all my royal dominion people are to tremble and fear before the God of Daniel, for He is the living God, enduring forever; His kingdom shall never be destroyed, and His dominion shall be to the end. He delivers and rescues; He works signs and wonders in heaven and on earth, He who has saved Daniel from the power of the lions.”
Daniel 6:25-27
C. Should We Speak Out?
There are many stories in the Old and New Testament that reflect the boldness of those following God. In Egypt, the midwives refused to commit genocide on the Hebrew baby males, Rahab rebelled against her culture because she feared the one true God, Jael killed a wicked ruler, Obediah defied authority by hiding 100 prophets, Mordecai refused to bow, Esther chose to speak out and risk her life when she knew the Jewish people were in danger. Have you heard the story of the Maccabees? What about when Saint Peter and Saint John were gathered in Jerusalem by the rulers, elders and scribes? They were questioned and then warned to no longer spread ‘misinformation’ but they refused to stop speaking about Jesus in Acts 4.
Did you know when the walls fell in Jericho, there were no quiet Israelites – they shouted TOGETHER (Joshua 6).
Jesus did not remain silent when He saw injustice and corruption either. Jesus defied customs and tradition when He touched lepers and the dead. He called out hypocrisy when He saw it, calling the Pharisees whitewashed tombs, full of lawlessness (Matthew 23:27-28).
There were many brave Christians that came after the New Testament as well, such as Corrie Ten Boom, Bonhoeffer, the Saints and so on.
When states are shutting churches’ doors, forbidding them to minister in person, and silencing singing we have a problem. When there is a push for forcing vaccines and masks on our children, we have a problem. When people are being silenced for asking questions or speaking out about crooked school curriculums being implemented, we have a problem. For we were not given a spirit of fear (2 Timothy 1:7) and therefore we must stand as the church.
Speaking out against injustice is one of our duties as Christians. It does not mean that we need to be belligerent and offensive. It means we lovingly say ‘no’. We are to protect our identity in Christ. We judge no one for their choice, because God is the Judge. However, we can say when something is immoral or does not line up with scripture. We should speak out about injustice and corruption.
Whoever sows injustice will reap calamity, and the rod of his fury will fail.
Proverbs 22:8
Have We Forgotten?
Jesus can heal ANYONE. Jesus gave us our life and He can take it away. This pandemic has taken many lives. It is a real thing that has happened to us. The numbers, however, do not reflect that of a plague. If we look at the facts (not provided by the mainstream media and propaganda), we have turned our country upside down, for numbers that don’t make sense. We need to consider the huge increase in suicide and depression and the major decline of mental health that has come as a result of how this virus is being handled.
GotQuestions.org states that “Among the various forms of judgment that God brings upon the unrighteous and rebellious is pestilence. Not every epidemic is the direct judgment of God, but the Bible indicates that some instances of pestilence in history have been a punishment for sin.”
I think this is something we should look at and consider. Have we turned our back on Almighty God? Do we no longer believe that He holds our life in His hands? The fact is all who are reading this article, are one day closer to death than yesterday. We WILL pass away. Do we trust in our savior wholeheartedly?
Jesus is Our King
Will you bow to Jesus or the world? Aside from everything that is going on the biggest truth is this: Doctors are not God. The Government is not God. Scientists and Experts are not God. God is God. Every single thing we do, He sees. We may not see the consequences for our actions immediately, but they will come. I would rather be one who stands firm in the fire saying what is right, than one who is afraid of being labeled and mocked. When Jesus returns, EVERY knee will bow. Stand for what is right, cling to what is good, true and lovely.
Stand church, it’s time to speak.
For it is written, “As I live, says the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God.” So then each of us will give an account of himself to God.
Romans 14:11-12
Reasons why people are choosing not to get the Covid vaccine (or vaccines in general):
- Aborted fetal cells are used in the making (‘proof of concept’) of these vaccines and it is a horrifying process. Killing of the unborn is against a Christian’s beliefs. See supporting articles below.
- There are other ingredients that are harmful (or questionable) included in the vaccines. See supporting articles below.
- mRNA is a new technology that has not been fully tested and there are concerns surrounding it’s effectiveness at treating Covid as well as concerns regarding long-term effects. See articles below.
- Some have already had Covid and have natural immunity. See article below.
- Some are sensitive to immunizations and have had mild to severe reactions from previous vaccines so no longer take them. See attached article about vaccine manufacturers not being liable for injury and the fund set aside (paid out over 4 Billion Dollars in 2018 for those injured by vaccines).
- Many patients are dying or having severe reactions from the administration of the new Covid vaccines and it does not seem worth the risk. See articles below.
- Some believe that we were given a natural immune system from God that works and do not need injections. See Holy Bible and link to free scriptures printable on healing in the Bible.
- Parents with concerns and questions about the vaccines are shamed, mocked and bullied. Those who speak out about it are being canceled and silenced. See article below.
